Brad Smith, Founder
Brad began roofing when he was just 15 years old! He started the Brad Smith Roofing Company in 1979. On January 30, 1991, he incorporated the business. The company has been an Accredited Business of the Cleveland Better Business Bureau since 1993. Brad’s two children, Stacey and Drew worked alongside our founder since 1999, for over 20 years before Brad’s passing in 2020.
Brad passed away after a courageous battle with ALS on Wednesday, August 12, 2020. Brad was a Lakewood High School graduate, then faithfully served in the Army Reserve for 5 years. He was the proud founder and owner of Brad Smith Roofing for over 40 years.
Brad Smith Roofing has participated in the Walk to Defeat ALS through the ALS Association – Northern Ohio in Honor of Brad. Drew Smith, President
Drew started roofing over the summers when he was 16 years old! In 2001, he began working full-time as an Estimator and Project Manager. Over the years, Drew has helped update the company with innovations to increase our effectiveness and productivity in the field and maintain our competitiveness in the marketplace. As a resident of both Westlake, OH and Naples, FL, Drew has now serviced many of our customers in both Ohio and Florida.
Stacey Kitchen, Vice-President / Office Manager
Stacey worked over the summers as an office assistant and has been full-time with Brad Smith Roofing since November of 1999, benefiting from her grandmother, Norma Jean’s example and tutelage. Stacey believes communication is the key to making sure your project is completed to your satisfaction! If you have an emergency, it will very likely be Stacey who answers your after-hours call! As a resident of Avon, Stacey thinks of the team here at Brad Smith Roofing like family. You will be thrilled with the results from our staff who genuinely cares about the end result, getting you the attention and service you need. With the experience level of our office staff, estimators and technicians ~ we can help navigate and investigate any issue on the exterior of your home. The Estimators here at Brad Smith Roofing have a reputation for knowledge and experience in both roofing and construction. Brad believed in continuous education because the roofing industry is continuously changing! Our Sales Team excels because of this practice, as well as years of accumulated knowledge, first-hand field experience, and project management. During your project, you will often see your Estimator or a Field Supervisor on the job site to monitor its steady progress.
Sean Masterson, Estimator, Account Manager
Sean has been a craftsman in the making since he was a young boy working for his grandfather’s roofing and construction business. He was an installer and project manager in the roofing industry for many years and still participates in very interictal projects that have a need for his attention to detail. We are thankful to have Sean with us at Brad Smith Roofing for the past 5 years.
You will be pleased to meet Sean and get just a taste of his knowledge of roofing and construction in helping you with your project needs. As a resident of Painesville, he travels over Northeast Ohio to help our customers navigate through their exterior needs.
Dan Lavelle, Estimator, Account Manager
Dan has been in the roofing industry since he was an installer during his college years. He has been on all sides of the industry from managing roofing projects out of state to an account manager on the supplier side of roofing and construction. We are thankful to have Dan with us at Brad Smith Roofing for the past 4 years.
You will be impressed with Dan and get a feel for the experience and knowledge he has in roofing, both residential and commercial roofing. As a resident of Lakewood, he also travels all over Northeast Ohio to help our customers navigate through their exterior needs.

The Office Staff at Brad Smith Roofing is here to support the efforts of our estimators and field staff. We provide our customers with the quality service any consumer expects and deserves. The process of getting an improvement done at your home or business is bound to come with many questions before, during and after the project is complete. Each of us strives to provide accurate and timely information for our customers! Our office staff maintains a good knowledge base in the industry and we encourage cross-training, so each of us can step out of our job descriptions to go above and beyond for our customers. Robyn Kline, Accounts Receivable Manager
Robyn joined our team in June 2023. She came to Brad Smith Roofing with a wealth of knowledge in accounting and construction. Robyn can help each client with insurance claim details to financing programs the company may have currently available with third parties we utilize. Jack Lavelle, Project Coordinator
Jack like any of us, may be the one to answer the phone when you call or make an appointment for you. He works heavily on preparing the installations of new roofing, siding, gutters, skylights and other accessories from helping to forecast your installation date to ordering materials with our vendors.
Michele, Reception / Customer Service Manager
Brad Smith Roofing is so fortunate to have Michele! She works part-time but she keeps all of us in the office on top of our clients needs on a daily basis. She will likely be the first one you speak with and she’s so excited when she gets to talk to you again, she really truly loves our customers!
